The West Adams Crop Swap LLC is a community-led initiative to build raised beds across Los Angeles, integrate the food that is grown into a city-wide crop swap, and create an immovable infrastructure of food equity. It currently has 80 members and plans to manage more than 9 acres of urban farmland in the Los Angeles metropolitan area, recruiting reentry citizens to build automated, irrigated raised beds. Ultimately, West Adams Crop Swap aims to build more than 5,000 raised beds over the next 5 years, turning LA into the world’s biggest urban farm.
